Collective agreements: Togo

In Togo, the cross-industry collective agreement must be considered alongside sectoral and company instruments. This directory identifies available documents, their scope, exclusions and required checks, without presenting an old or unsigned copy as a certified current rule.

Documentary record dated · Kernel summary, not certified by an authority

13 named references. Non-exhaustive documentary inventory; unpublished texts, amendments, revisions and extensions may be missing.

Identified texts and references

Collective agreements, amendments and company agreements are distinguished. A catalogue entry or signing announcement is not a review of the full text. This list is not an exhaustive inventory of agreements in force.

Cross-industryText consulted

Togo cross-industry collective agreement (CCIT), 2026 revision

Version and dates
Public signing announced by the CNP on 30 April 2026. Articles 3-b and 74 make effectiveness conditional on the day after filing with the court registry. LQDD reports filing on 19 May and effectiveness on 20 May 2026; the filing date has not been independently checked with the registry.
Scope
Article 1 concerns employers and workers governed by the Labour Code in businesses operating in Togo. Article 3-c addresses coordination with a more favourable sectoral agreement. Do not extend this scope to employees governed by a public-service statute without examining their regime.
Illustrative case to check
When hiring in a services business in Lomé, first examine the CCIT scope and look for a sectoral or company agreement. The employee’s job title alone does not determine the agreement.
Checks before applying
Do not automatically reuse 2011 article numbers or pay scales. Check the signed and filed copy, classification and pay appendices, and more favourable terms. This directory does not modify the site’s salary calculations.
Documentary references
Articles 1 to 4: scope, replacement, effectiveness and acquired benefits. Article 35: payslips; article 36: overtime; article 40: seniority; article 49: leave. Appendices I and II: classifications and pay scale.

Scope
Article 1 concerns employers and workers in banks, financial institutions and insurance in Togo.
Illustrative case to check
For a bank employee, check the job classification in the occupational appendix and any bank-specific agreements.
Checks before applying
The directory also contains an insurance-company agreement. Do not combine the two pay scales or decide priority solely from their titles; verify the employer’s coverage and the latest signed instruments.
Documentary references
Articles 1 to 3; final effectiveness clause; occupational classification appendix.
SectoralText consulted

Collective agreement for insurance companies in Togo

Version and dates
Copy dated 27 February 2013; the final clause provides for application from signing. Current status in 2026 is not certified.
Scope
Article 1 concerns employers and employees of insurance companies in Togo. This does not establish that every intermediary or broker is covered.
Illustrative case to check
For a claims handler employed by an insurance company, request the agreement actually used by the company and the employee’s classification.
Checks before applying
Check coordination with the banks/financial institutions/insurance text, amendments and company agreements. An old copy alone does not establish the current minimum wage.
Documentary references
Articles 1 to 3; effectiveness clause; appendix I on occupational classifications.

Reproduced text; no signing date established in this directory. Obtain the current version from the signatories.

Illustrative case to check
For a teacher or employee at a faith-based institution, verify the institution’s nature and the employment contract’s status.

Checks before applying
Obtain a signed and filed copy. Read amendments, including the pay-scale extension instrument; do not reuse an old scale as the current minimum.
Documentary references
Article 1: scope, reference to free-zone status and more favourable provisions.
AmendmentText consulted

Version and dates
Directory labelled 2015; the reproduced scale is marked “1 January 2016”. Current status must be confirmed.

Illustrative case to check
To check progression for a free-zone employee, compare category, step and seniority with the amendment’s conditions and subsequent updates.

Illustrative case to check
For an employee of a fuel-storage company, check this agreement’s scope and the classifications in the applicable version.

Illustrative case to check
For an accountant employed by a pharmaceutical wholesaler, do not look only for an agreement associated with accountancy: first examine the employer’s activity and scope.
Checks before applying
Do not apply a scale from this copy without evidence of signing, filing and current version. This entry identifies an available document, not certified enforceability.
Documentary references
Article 1, paragraphs a to d: scope, covered businesses, personnel and company agreements.

How do you identify the applicable agreement?

  1. 1

Identify the employer and employment relationship

Identify the business activity, any free-zone approval and the worker’s status. Compare these facts with the text’s scope and exclusions, rather than relying on the job title.

  2. 2

    Identify overlapping instruments

Examine the CCIT, sectoral instruments and company-specific agreements. Article 3-c of the consulted CCIT refers to a more favourable sectoral agreement; articles 2 and 4 address minimum terms and acquired benefits. A title alone does not resolve overlaps.

  3. 3

    Verify the enforceable version

Request the signed and filed copy, its appendices, amendments and, where relevant, extension instruments. Confirm effectiveness and any replacement or termination with the registry, labour authority or signatories.

  4. 4

Connect the provisions to the actual case

Check classification, contractual minimum pay, allowances, working time, leave and notice under the applicable version. A site market-salary benchmark is not a collectively agreed minimum; no historical scale in this directory is automatically used by the calculators.

Sources and verification method

Entries distinguish consulted texts from references only identified in a catalogue, announcement or secondary source. A link to a reproduction is not official certification. Desk research does not replace checking signatures, filing, extension, amendments and any termination with the court registry, labour authority or signatories. No agreement is inferred merely because an industry exists.

Editorial summary: Kernel. Practical cases are illustrative, not determinations of applicability. English translations are informative; the original text prevails. This information is not legal advice.

Common questions

Which collective agreement should you consult in Togo in 2026?

Start with the revised CCIT whose public signing was announced on 30 April 2026, then check sectoral and company agreements matching the employer. Effectiveness depends on filing; the date of 20 May 2026 is reported by LQDD and has not been directly verified with the registry in this directory.

Does this list contain every collective agreement currently in force in Togo?

No. This directory contains 13 documentary references: 11 texts titled collective agreements, one amendment and one company agreement. Some copies are incomplete. Neither national completeness nor each text’s current enforceability is certified; unpublished agreements may be missing.

Where can you read the texts and download the cross-industry agreement?

Each entry links to the consulted reproduction. The 2026 CCIT PDF is hosted by LQDD, a third-party publisher, not by the court registry. For legal use, obtain an authenticated copy and its appendices from the competent authorities or signatories.

Is a sectoral agreement selected solely by occupation?

No. The consulted scopes depend on the employer’s activity and may include exclusions or special status, such as free-zone approval. An accountant employed by a pharmacy and an accountant employed by a bank are not automatically covered by the same text.
